916 Jimmy in His garden
A few years back I created The Lunenburg Heritage Quilt for the Nova Scotia town’s 250th anniversary. Old Town Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. To involve the community and visitors in the project, a work space was set up in the public eye for the summer in the Knaut Rhuland House Museum, the centre of Old Town. Surrounding the house are well kept flower gardens with authentic plants from the 18th century. One day when I was looking for foliage to create sun prints on fabric for the quilt project I met Jimmy Aulenback, who created the garden and lovingly tends it.
